Home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Houston proudly carries the name “Rocket City” is a city of many first in our nation’s history. Houston, the city, was the first word spoken from the surface of the moon when astronaut Neil Armstrong announced, “Houston. Tranquility Base here. Eagle has landed.” Another first for the city was the construction and operation of the famous Houston Astrodome, the first air-conditioned sports stadium.
